The workshop will begin with a brief discussion of the history of the medium, followed by a demonstration on how to use a light-box, a peg bar and punched paper to create a hand-drawn animation. Each person attending the workshop will receive a peg-bar which is used for registering paper so that all the drawings stay perfectly aligned. Various tips and tricks will be discussed and everyone attending will leave with enough basic skills to begin their own film.
People attending will have the option of working on an exercise or simply watching the demonstration.
The workshop will end with an open discussion on traditional animation’s place in the digital age and how the medium can be utilized and combined with other forms of animation.
