This one and a half hour workshop/presentation is open to all adults interested in the art of basic armature construction of characters used in Stop Motion Animation. It serves as an introduction to general armature construction and provides an example of one method of construction, keeping your budget in mind.
Up to 5 adults (or teenagers 16 years and up) are welcome to participate in constructing their own armature, with a step-by-step demonstration. Depending on the venue, a certain amount of bystanders are also welcome to sit/stand and view the activities.
We will explore:
I will show you one method of constructing a basic armature to be used in filming for Stop Motion. You will have the chance to construct one yourself and take it home. It is only the basic wire armature we will make, clothing it in whatever materials you choose, you would still need to do.
Who should attend?
This workshop teaches the very basics of armature construction.
It is open to all adults novices interested in the art of armature construction. No prior knowledge needed.
Puppeteers
Filmmakers interested in using Stop Motion puppets and methods in their films
Level: Adult novices and teenagers 16 years+ ,with no prior knowledge or experience of this field are most welcome.
Admission requirements:
No prior knowledge or experience required.
You will be handling tools and materials, attempting do some pretty precise actions. Would suit someone who is used to working with their hands. (Not a problem for any puppeteer of course!)
Materials needed: Notebook and pen. All other materials will be provided.
