“Balancing Act’, is an exciting new interactive Edu-story fresh from Durban, by Adi Paxton and award winning director Garth Anderson. Can the audience help young Cindi, ‘Kay Roach’ and Xeno/Xena to tip the balance for the planet before it’s too late? Themes of biodiversity, tolerance and climate change are explored using storytelling, magic, puppetry and mime in this entertaining family piece.
About the Artists:
Adi appeared at the Out The Box Festival in the solo version of “Pet’s Tale”(2008) which toured to the International Puppet Festival in Mistelbach, Austria (2000), and appeared on the main program at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown (2004). She has performed her one woman family shows at festivals such as the Hermanus Whale Festival, Hilton Arts festival, Splashy Fen and others and throughout SA since 1986.
Garth has directed Shakespeare productions, family shows and Greig Coetzee in his acclaimed White Men with Weapons. He has received many awards as performer and director including two lifetime achievement awards for his contribution to theatre in KZN over the past 30 years.
